My name is Thomas Westphal. As an autodidact, I taught myself how to compose. My life has never been straightforward. After I successfully completed an apprenticeship as a tax clerk, I quickly realized that I was unhappy in this profession. I tried a lot of new things and came to music quite late. But since then it has determined my life. A day without making music is a wasted day for me. But since I am not a gifted virtuoso and better at writing music, I hope that my pieces will find their lovers.
